The Evolution of a Paradigm-Shifting Sterilization Technology Platform

From Three Decades of Sterilization R&D to a Globally Scalable Technology Platform…

Founded in 1993, TEKNOMAR® has been manufacturing world-class industrial and hospital-grade Ethylene Oxide sterilization systems and low-temperature sterilization equipment in Türkiye since 1996.

In 1996, with the valuable technical insight and support of leading cardiovascular surgeons, TEKNOMAR® commenced serial production of Cardiovascular-Type EO Sterilizers, specifically developed to address the need for safe and reliable catheter sterilization.

In 2006, TEKNOMAR® strengthened its position as an internationally recognized sterilization technology company by developing what was, within its category, the world's largest Industrial Ethylene Oxide Sterilization System. With a chamber capacity of 62.5 m³, the system represented a major engineering milestone in large-scale industrial EO gas sterilization.

Building on its extensive R&D capability and accumulated expertise in Ethylene Oxide sterilization, TEKNOMAR® achieved another significant technological milestone in 2012 by developing the world's first Suture EO Sterilization System capable of achieving 0 ppm humidity within a single chamber, addressing a specific technical gap in the international sterilization market.

In parallel, leveraging its growing knowledge base and sterilization expertise, and responding to evolving market dynamics through a continuous innovation strategy, TEKNOMAR® initiated Türkiye's first R&D program for a Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma Sterilization System in 2004.

Through this program, HRF Cold Plasma Technology was developed. Following patent protection, the first commercial product was introduced to the market in 2006 under the TEKNOMAR® brand as the HRF3000 Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma Sterilizer.

In line with its strategic market objectives, a new corporate initiative was launched in 2007 under the auspices of TEKNOMAR®. Led conceptually by Hasan Tahsin ÖZBEK, who also became the principal shareholder, GOA TEKNOLOJİ LTD. ŞTİ. was established to manufacture Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilization Systems under the STERICOOL brand.

The first products developed under this structure were commercially introduced in 2008 at the TEKNOMAR® stand at TÜYAP Istanbul, followed by their international presentation at Arab Health Dubai in the same year, under the designation STERICOOL HRF 3000 TEKNOMAR®

The core technology underlying the GOA STERICOOL Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma Sterilization System originated from TEKNOMAR®. The technology was subsequently transferred to a Sweden-based global medical technology company through a technology transfer transaction.

TEKNOMAR®, whose core competence has consistently centered on the development of proprietary sterilization technologies and sustained R&D activity, continued its research without interruption through its experienced R&D team.

As part of this technology-development trajectory, TEKNOMAR® developed a more advanced OZONE & H₂O₂ PLASMA SYSTEM. However, the technology was not commercialized because it did not demonstrate the required sterilization performance and presented oxidation-related limitations.

The technical insight gained through these successive development programs became an important foundation for the next generation of sterilization technology. In 2018, TEKNOMAR® initiated the R&D program for the Heavy Molecule (H₃O) Hydronium Sterilization Methodand the HDROZONE® Sterilization Platform.

Following six years of intensive and capital-intensive R&D, the technology was successfully transformed into a commercial product in 2024, reaching TRL 9, completing its clinical and accreditation testing processes, and entering successful use in real clinical environments.

HDROZONE® subsequently established a distinctive and highly differentiated position within its target market.

HDROZONE® is positioned as the world's first patented fourth-generation sterilization platform, utilizing heavy molecular species with high radical- and hydronium-generation capacity and delivering particularly strong sterilization performance in demanding applications such as endoscopes.

HDROZONE® is a Low-Temperature Hydrogen Peroxide and Ozonated Heavy-Molecule Hydronium Gas Plasma Sterilization Method.

TEKNOMAR's more than three decades of R&D and innovation capability in sterilization technologies have created not merely a foundation for incremental product development, but a deep technology and competence base capable of generating entirely new technological paradigms. One of the most advanced outcomes of this accumulated capability is HDROZONE®

HDROZONE® was not developed as a conventional productdevelopment project or merely as the next iteration of existing sterilization technologies. It was conceived and engineered as a next-generation technology platform designed to redefine the sterilization paradigm itself.

Recognizing HDROZONE®'s global growth potential, strategic scalability and capacity for independent value creation, a new corporate structure was established to unlock and accelerate the platform's commercial potential.

Within this framework, HDROZONE®, together with the technological knowledge base developed within TEKNOMAR®, its intellectual property rights, proprietary know-how, manufacturing infrastructure and specialized human capital, was transformed into an independent technology venture under BScience® A.Ş. and positioned as a dedicated spin-off.

As a result, Bscience® has been established not merely as a company responsible for manufacturing and selling HDROZONE® systems, but as the independent corporate vehicle responsible for the global development, international certification, commercialization and scaling of the HDROZONE® technology platform.

Its strategic mandate encompasses:
